Ansar Ibraimo
Chief Executive Officer, Daimic Motors

1. Which milestones best define Daimic Motors’ evolution, and how has the company helped modernize Angola’s automotive market?

Companies should ultimately be judged not by the wealth they create, but by the value they create for society. That belief has guided Daimic Motors since its very beginning.

Over the past two decades, we have evolved from a vehicle distributor into a comprehensive mobility company. While our business has grown considerably, our greatest achievement has never been measured by the number of vehicles we sell, but by the trust we have earned.

From the outset, we believed customers deserved more than a product. They deserved a long-term partner capable of providing reliable after-sales support, technical expertise, genuine parts and service excellence throughout the entire ownership journey.

As Angola has developed, so have we. We have continuously invested in infrastructure, technology, people and customer experience, helping raise standards across the automotive industry.

For us, business is not about transactions. It is about building lasting relationships, creating opportunities and contributing to the development of our country.

2. Which figures best show the company’s scale today and the value it is creating for customers, companies and institutions?

Today, Daimic Motors serves individuals, businesses and institutions through an integrated mobility platform supported by modern facilities, a nationwide presence and a team of more than 200 dedicated professionals.

Our commercial performance has been encouraging, with consistent growth across vehicle sales, after-sales services, spare parts and fleet solutions.

However, numbers only tell part of the story.

Success is ultimately reflected in the confidence our customers place in us, the careers we help build, the businesses we enable to grow and the contribution we make to Angola’s economy.

I have never believed that success belongs solely to those who own a business. It belongs equally to the employees who build it, the customers who trust it, the partners who strengthen it and the communities that allow it to grow.

The larger we become, the greater our responsibility becomes.

3. How is Daimic bringing more modern, efficient and technology-driven mobility solutions to Angola?

Technology should never exist simply because it is new. Its purpose is to improve people’s lives.

That is why Daimic Motors focuses on introducing innovations that genuinely enhance safety, efficiency, sustainability and everyday mobility.

Through our partnership with Changan, we are bringing world-class automotive technologies to Angola while simultaneously investing in technician training, specialised equipment and customer education.

Innovation without knowledge creates uncertainty. Innovation supported by education creates progress.

Our responsibility is not simply to introduce new technologies, but to ensure they create meaningful and lasting value for the people who use them.

4. How are financing partnerships helping expand access to mobility, and where do you see new opportunities for collaboration?

Mobility creates opportunity.

When families, entrepreneurs and businesses gain access to reliable transportation, they gain greater freedom to work, grow and contribute to the economy.

That is why our partnerships with financial institutions extend far beyond financing vehicles. They are about making opportunity more accessible.

Together with our banking partners, we are developing solutions that simplify vehicle ownership while maintaining transparency, affordability and long-term value for our customers.

In today’s economic environment, where inflation continues to challenge purchasing power, businesses have a responsibility to combine competitive pricing with outstanding quality and service.

The strongest partnerships are those in which everyone benefits: the customer, the financial institution, the manufacturer and society itself.

5. What concrete steps is Daimic taking to support greener and more responsible mobility in Angola?

Sustainability is not achieved through announcements. It is achieved through responsible action.

We are progressively expanding our portfolio of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, range-extended electric and electric vehicles while ensuring that our technical capabilities evolve alongside these technologies.

Equally important is preparing our people, our workshops and our customers for this transition. We believe sustainability must be practical, accessible and adapted to Angola’s realities.

Our ambition is not simply to sell cleaner vehicles.

It is to help build a cleaner, more efficient and more sustainable future for generations to come.

6. What community programmes, training actions or social projects is Daimic supporting?

I have always believed that business carries a moral responsibility.

A successful company should improve lives far beyond the walls of its own organisation.

Every job we create, every young professional we train and every family whose livelihood depends on our activities represents part of our contribution to society.

But responsibility extends even further. We believe wealth is not an end in itself. It is a trust.

Its highest purpose is not accumulation, but circulation—creating opportunities, supporting communities, helping those facing hardship and restoring dignity where it is needed most.

Business should generate profits because profitability creates sustainability. But its higher purpose is to generate opportunity, hope and human development.

This philosophy shapes how we treat our employees, our customers, our partners and our communities.

Because the true value of an enterprise is ultimately measured by the number of lives it positively touches.

7. What are Daimic Motors’ main priorities for expansion, investment and long-term value creation?

Our ambition is not simply to expand our footprint.

It is to strengthen an institution capable of serving future generations.

We will continue investing in technology, people, infrastructure and customer experience while expanding access to modern mobility solutions across Angola and progressively into other African markets.

Africa is entering one of the most significant periods of economic transformation in its history.

We believe companies have both the privilege and the responsibility to contribute to that transformation by creating employment, investing responsibly, transferring knowledge and building institutions that endure.

Growth, in our view, is meaningful only when it creates lasting value for society.

8. What vision guides your leadership, and what legacy would you like to build through Daimic Motors?

Leadership, to me, is an act of stewardship.

We are entrusted with people, resources, opportunities and influence, and we have a responsibility to use each of them wisely.

Profit is essential because it allows a business to innovate, invest, create employment and remain sustainable.

But profit is never the destination. Purpose is.

At Daimic Motors, we strive to conduct business with honesty, integrity and excellence. We believe commercial success and compassion are not opposing principles. A company can pursue ambitious goals while remaining deeply committed to serving people with fairness, respect and dignity.

At the end of my career, I do not hope to be remembered simply for building a successful automotive company.

I hope Daimic Motors will be remembered as an institution that conducted business with integrity, pursued excellence without compromise and used its success to create opportunities for others.

Because I believe the true measure of wealth is not what we accumulate, but what we leave behind in the lives of those we have the privilege to serve.
